Acrobalance
Acrobatic balancing
''What is
acrobalance? Hard to describe. 'Acrobatic balancing', is (usually) two
people supporting, lifting and balancing each other on hands, feet,
shoulders, backs, etc. It does impress people
What does it
involve? Strength, stamina and flexibility. If you don't have these
already then it's a good way of getting them. You work in pairs: a base
and a flyer. Its easier when the base is somewhat larger and the flyer
somewhat lighter, but it isn't essential.
It's not as
acrobatic as the name might suggest. Obviously if you can hold a solid
handstand and do backflips, it helps, but nobody currently in the class
(or teaching it) can. In fact, no gymnastic experience is necessary - we
can work up to it. Nor do you need to come ready prepared with someone to
work with." - Chloe Milburn
